Princesses & Pirates

Today, in Carly's class, it is Princesses & Pirates day. She was up before the crack wanting to get dressed and get out the door, her excitement was overwhelming. I, on the other hand, am still in pain from throwing my back out yesterday and Dave is fighting a cold. Her excitement has overflowed and rubbed off on me and even Dave had a daddy sized smile when he saw his little princess all ready for school. Back and cold problems seemed to disappear.

I took great care in doing her hair, getting her crown on and picking out her "jewelry". She was feeling and looking great! She hopped in the van and we were off to school. Once there she skipped, hopped and giggled all the way to her classroom. We saw her teacher Ms. Inelia in the hallway who commented on how beautiful she looked today!

Once inside her class, her BFF Lauren had the same hair do as Carly and the other little girls came over to share their crowns and dresses. The boys were dressed with their Pirate hats and scarves.

I was a proud momma. I managed to get in a kiss and a hug and her day began. Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see how much fun she has today. I would like to have just 1 ounce of her excitement and enthusiasm she has for school and her friends, to show for the one person who truly deserves it and more, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

See, Jesus takes great care to get us ready for our Princess/Prince party when we get to Heaven. We will one day stand before Him and account for what we have done in His name. He will be the proud Pappa holding our crowns, just waiting to adorn them on our heads. I want so much to hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant, well done!"

The head pirate is certainly doing everything he can to get his crew ready to pillage, plunder, rob and steal people from our King. he is going to make it as attractive as he can to try and add to his crew. Just like Capt. Hook, the evil one will do his best to sign you up for a life of a pirate, but you have a choice... THE most important decision of our life... choosing to follow your Savior, the one who came and died on the cross for EVERYONE, Jesus Christ.

Right now, there are people next door, across the street, across the state and spread out across the country that don't know Jesus.; they haven't heard of Him, don't believe or don't care. Wouldn't they rather be a Princess/Prince than a Pirate? Don't they want to be with the King rather than a smelly old pirate?

You might say, what can I do, I am only one person? Yes, BUT if we do things in the name of Christ, be involved with your church family, be in the word and project a fire within us, people will ask questions. Someone will notice, it will rub off on them, they will want what you have. Don't let Sunday be the only day you talk to God, take Him with y ou everywhere!

Know that "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all, in every good work. that you need, you will abound.

How will you dress today? Princess/Prince or pirate?
