Anticipating

Today we were surprised with tickets to Disney's Princess' on Ice. Carly was so excited she could hardly wait. She's the ripe old age of 3 and of course she's "always wanted to do that".

We got ready and waited for Cathy and Ralph to pick us up, outside of course, she had to wait to see the car pull up in the drive. We get in the car and were off to pick up Auntie KK. Traffic was at a minimal and we got to downtown Tampa with out a hitch.

Once we get inside, we are bombarded with souviner booths and food. We did find a great area where the Disney folks had displayed each of the princess dresses, some characters from their respective stories and portraits of each one. Carly wanted her picture with each display. I do have to say they were great.

We found our seats and they were great and on the isle. Carly was proudly displaying her Princess Ariel doll that Ralph & Cathy bought for her and waiting patiently for the show to start.

When the lights went down and the music started, Carly's eyes got so big and the smile on her face was worth a million bucks. Tinkerbell came out first then Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Carly was pointing and giggling at everything that was going on. She sat star struck for the next hour and a half as all her favorite princesses and their princes skated to tell their stories.

Imagine with me, if you will, what it was like 2000 years ago studying and knowing that a King was to be born to save the world. You'd probably be hanging out in the synagogue listening to the chief priest read from the scrolls. Waiting and anticipating the arrival of the Son of Man.

You went about your daily routine until one day, you were hanging out with your friends and there He was, in the flesh, Jesus. You were pointing at Him, laughing with your friends in pure excitement and had a smile on your face worth a million words.

You followed Him through the streets and in and out of cities watching the miracles of the blind to see, the lame to walk, the sick be healed and the dead alive again! What an exciting time, I can't imagine what it was like to follow our King and listen to His sermons.

I want to have the same excitement about Jesus that Carly had today. I want to sit on the edge of my seat just waiting for Him to talk to me, to bless me. I want to have the wisdom to tell others about my Jesus and the wonderful things that He can do in their lives.

Matthew 28 says: Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Jesus is our Prince, and as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
